JNVST – Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test
In alignment with the National Policy of Education (1986), the Government of India initiated Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). Currently, JNVs are established in 27 States and 8 Union Territories. These co-educational residential schools are fully financed and administered by the Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The primary mode of admission to JNVs is through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class VI.

Monthly Contribution: A nominal sum of Rs. 600 per month is collected from students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi.

Exemptions: Students belonging to SC/ST categories, Divyang students, all-girl students, and students from families below the poverty line (BPL) are exempted from the monthly contribution.
